WALKING GROUP
“Fun, friendship and fellowship”
All members and prospective members are welcome to join one of our walks. Starting time is 9:30am on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month, but the venue varies.
Gill organises the walks and ensures plenty of variety in places and views. This twice monthly is a very social trek. Not too strenuous and always coffee even if it is raining. Port Stephens is such a great area for walks with a view but sometimes we are very adventurous and have an “out of towner”.
1st February 2023
The walks are back in business for 2023, 11 members got together for an out-of-towner at the Walka Water works near Maitland. The weather was kind, sunny but not too hot as most of the walk was shaded. We walked around the lake and up into the bush returning for a friendly lunch at the Imperial Hotel in Maitland.

17th August 2022
An out-of-towner to walk part of the Fernleigh Track, a 15km shared pathway between Adamstown and Belmont. Having previously walked from the Adamstown end, this time the walk started near Whitebridge station and featured lovely Aussie bush, gurgling watercourses and native birds. The track is reasonably flat and made for very relaxed walking, the usual bike/walking track - the walk continued to just beyond the Oakdale Road bridge where everyone turned around and headed back for lunch/coffee at the Whitebridge Centre Cafe.
